Hello! I’m Gerard Castaneda, a Michigan based nurse turned nursing blogger. Throughout my career I found one thing to be consistent – nursing is constantly changing! I had the idea to start Nursing Cues because I wanted to create a space for nurses to learn something new about the field in a short time frame amidst an ever-evolving profession. My thought was to enhance the access to quality information and prompt nurses to further their practice. As a result, the Nursing Cues blog was launched.

I graduated from the University of Michigan School of Nursing and completed my Masters in Nursing at Ferris State University. My current practice is in public health but also worked as a nurse in the emergency department, home health and various Medical Surgical units. I spent almost 20 years in the profession and I am proud as ever to have the RN title after my name.

The development of the blog has been exciting and I am eager to see what’s to come for the nursing profession. Thanks for being a part of this adventure and for the service you provide to your patients and community!
